Now that you have come on vacation to Cancun, you can try out the sport that is becoming fashionable all over the world for its many benefits. It may seem easy to stand on a board and propel forward with the help of rowing but the truth is that it’s not. But it’s also true that it’s not an exact science; It requires your trust and the willingness to develop new skills. Are you ready?
Strengthen your muscles
The wicked ocean waves will work your legs, arms, torso, and many other muscles you forgot even existed. The reason is, that if you do not turn your hips, legs, and torso then you will only be using the strength in your arms to propel you causing you to get tired quickly, so your instincts will make you integrate your whole body to pull hard on the water while you keep your balance. Paddle boarding is a low cardiovascular exercise recommended for anyone who suffers from problems in the upper, middle and lower back, hips, ankles, and knees since the paddle boarding strengthens the postural muscles.
Scientifically it has been proven that being in contact with water is extremely liberating and can act as a tranquilizer. If we add the feel of the sea breeze, the sunshine, and the distinct smell of the saltwater, it’s not surprising that paddle boarding becomes both a fun and relaxing experience at the same time. At the beginning you might be a little worried about losing your balance, but as time passes you will become so involved in this activity that you’ll forget the mundane problems that afflict us humans. Come on, try paddle boarding and feel lighter, full of joy, and a clear mind.
What you will need
The main thing is to keep an open and relaxed “walk on water” attitude. Now, before you enter the Cancun ocean you might want to use sunscreen, hydrate before and after the activity, ask your friends to take pictures to keep as a memory, and of course to schedule your paddle board session, at an additional cost in the module activities, of our sister resort Ocean Spa Hotel.
