In spite of being small, you’ll be astonished by the attractions that this fishing town has to offer. We will start with the tours offered by the boatmen at the foot of the pier. This tour includes a trip to the famous lighthouse where you can snorkel accompanied by your guide . Be sure to be careful as you snorkel since you are in a reef area and could damage them. After this incredible experience full of multicolored fish, the boat will take you to a restaurant where the main dish will be no other than the famous Fish, Tikin-Xic. After a delicious lunch, time has flown by and it’s already time to return to the center of the island (the pier).

Many visitors prefer to explore Isla Mujeres in the most practical and fun way: aboard a golf cart. One of the key sites to visit is Punta Sur, a place where the sun’s rays touch the earth before any other state of the Mexican Republic. From this cliff you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sea. In addition, next to it is a sculptural garden and of course the statue of the Goddess Ixchel, venerated by the Mayans and one of the most important deities of this culture. Another place you can’t afford to miss while you travel the island is the ISLA MUJERES sign.  In giant colorful letters the name of the island is displayed and is the obligatory place to take a photo to keep as a memory.

It’s not a novelty that one of the main attractions of Isla Mujeres is its spectacular beaches of turquoise waters and white sand and although it is most abundant in beaches, the one that takes the prize as the second most beautiful beach of Mexico is North Beach. Here you will find several little hotels, as well as beach clubs where music, seafood, and good ambiance are always present. The main attraction of this beach is that the tide tends to be very low and gives the impression of a gigantic pool with transparent water warmed by the sun.
